Congratulations to all who were involved in the iPASTAR (Improving Pathways for Acute Stroke and Rehabilitation) International conference and symposium hosted by iPASTAR at RCSI University of Medicine and health sciences, Dublin Ireland, on November 6th 2024.
The conference entitled ‘Stroke for the Future: The Vision for Comprehensive Stroke Care Pathways’ was led by the iPASTAR research team and included keynote speeches from leaders in the stroke community, including Prof. Michael Hill, University of Calgary, Canada. Prof. Bo Norrving, Lund University, Sweden. Prof. Peter Langhorne, Emeritus Professor, University of Glasgow. Prof. Peter Kelly (Former President of the European Stroke Organization). Prof. Jason Scott, North Cumbria University, and Prof. James Faulkner, University of Southampton.
The iPASTAR PhD research scholars presented an update on their research findings, which are focusing on the delivery of stroke care for patients, from the hospital to rehabilitation in the community, and living well after stroke. The conference participants heard from our PPI partners on their perspectives on their experience of life after stroke and being involved in iPASTAR.
On behalf of Professor Frances Horgan, Professor David Williams and the iPASTAR Management team, a big thanks to all who made the day such a big success!
